Professional Practice / Internships
American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS)-
Family and Consumer Science Education students are encouraged to become members of the Illinois State University Student Chapter of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). AAFCS is the only national forum where K-12 teachers, university educators, and corporate executives collaborate to improve the quality of individual and family life. Through participation in AAFCS ISU Student Chapter meetings and events, members participate in professional development activities and service projects in the local community. Yearly activities include attending the Illinois Association of Family and Consumer Sciences conference in the spring, as well as the national AAFCS conference in the summer.
