Facilities of Supporting Disciplines

A number of facilities are routinely used by Family and Consumer Science Education (FCSE) students:

• All FCSE enroll in “Development and Guidance of Preschool Children,” which requires observation of preschool children at the Illinois State University Child Care Center.

• All FCSE students enroll in “Principles of Food Preparation,” which requires participation in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics labs.

• All FCSE students complete over 100 hours of observation in middle and high school classrooms in the local area, including University High School, ISU’s lab high school.

• FCSE students who earn a designation in Apparel and Textiles use facilities in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design. 

• FCSE students who earn a designation in Living Environments use facilities in Interior and Environmental Design.
