Each spring semester, FCS awards one graduating senior the Outstanding Senior Award. Faculty are asked to nominate students for this and a committee selects the student to be honored among those who have been nominated. The award is presented to the student at the FCS Spring Awards Banquet held in April each year.
Undergraduate Teaching Assistantships are available to junior and senior FCS majors who have demonstrated excellence in the discipline and high overall scholastic achievement. The purpose of the program is to assist the faculty in the improvement of instruction and to provide UTAs with a valuable learning opportunity. Typically in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences five to eight are awarded each semester.
Applications are available in the department office and the deadline for submitting an application will be included in our Advisement Newsletter (typically around March 1).
