In 2006, Yoon Jin Ma began teaching at Illinois State University as an assistant professor of Apparel, Merchandising, and Design within the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. She completed both her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Textiles and Clothing from Yonsei University in South Korea, and earned her Ph.D. degree in Textiles and Clothing with a minor degree in Statistics at Iowa State University. Dr. Ma has taught courses in introductory and advanced textile sciences, merchandising planning and control, economics of fashion, and apparel product analysis for undergraduate students, and statistics and introduction to research methodology for graduate students. Her research interests include socially responsibility in apparel consumption, manufacturing, and retailing, services marketing, consumer behavior, and scale development. She is also an active member of International Textiles and Apparel Association.
