Profile:

Lisa began working with young children from 1979-1983 during the summers of her college years. After graduation she has had positions at other centers as teacher, assistant director and as a director. In 1988 Lisa had the opportunity to return to teaching at the Illinois State University Child Care.

Lisa chooses to share her days with children because she finds the way they think interesting. Their take on life is fresh and truthful. The curiosity young children have inspires her to investigate with them. Most adults have lost the ability to truly question why, but children do it naturally. They continue to make her grow even after she felt she had delved into an area in great depth and detail.

Lisa has been a team teacher for ISU Child Care Center since 1988. She was employed as an Assistant Director and Director of Child Care Centers in the Bloomington-Normal Community before joining the ISU Child Care Center team.  She has presented at local, state and national conferences. She has published articles on a number of early childhood topics. She has served on the local MCAEYC as treasurer and co-chair of Week of the Young Child. Presented for the Child Care Resource and Referral Network and local child care centers on a variety of child related topics including the Project Approach curriculum.
