Interior Design Drafting Laboratory

All interior and environmental design studio courses are taught in this laboratory. The laboratory contains 30 individual drafting tables for studio courses, a group work area in the back of the room, one resource library room and an open work area. The drafting laboratory has a teaching workstation with a networked computer and monitor, a projection system for the computer, document camera and slide to video converter.

Computer Drafting Laboratory

Interior design and apparel design students and faculty have access to the Department of Technology’s primary computer drafting laboratory. TEC 110 Introduction to MicroCAD and TEC 211 Architectural Drafting, required courses, are taught in this laboratory. Interior design and apparel design students also have access to this laboratory and Turner 202 during open lab times to utilize AutoCAD. The interior design plotter is housed in this laboratory and is used by both FCS and Technology students.

 

Textile Laboratory

Textile courses for Interior and Environmental Design students are taught in this newly renovated laboratory. Equipment available for research and instruction includes a spectrophotometer, crease recovery tester, snag tester, Instron materials strength tester, abrasion resistance tester, laboratory wringer, solar UV simulator, yarn twist tester, wrinkle tester, Pantone Textile Color selector, crockmeter, drying oven and tearing tester.
