- Tuition and Fees
Detailed information concerning tuition and fee rates both in state and out of state can be found at the Student Accounts Web site.
- Transportation Costs
Transportation Costs are incurred by the student. A reliable car is absolutely necessary. Some of the sites we work with are located out of town. The state of Illinois requires all licensed drivers to carry liability insurance. Illinois State University is not responsible for any damage to an intern's car which may occur traveling to or from a site or while at that site.

- Housing
Although student housing is available on campus through University Housing Services, internship students are responsible for the cost of housing.

- Student Apartments
Student apartments are available for rent through University Housing Services. More information about these locations can be found on their site.
- Off Campus Apartments
There are additional opportunities for off-campus apartments. Double occupancy apartment pricing can be expected to be around $3600 per year.

Financial Assistance
Graduate Assistantships may be available for the three or four semesters of on-campus course work. These are for either 10 hours per week ($350/month) or 20 hours per week ($700/month) and include a full tuition waiver. Partial tuition waivers are also periodically granted by the department for the fourth semester when the student is doing their child life internship
If an academic assistantship is awarded for both the fall and spring semesters, the student will receive a tuition waiver for the following summer semester. Please be certain to include the required Graduate Assistantship form (available online or in your application packet).
Graduate Assistant Handbook
The Financial Aid Office is available to assist students with loans and deferments. Student loans may be deferred during the internship experiences and graduate studies.
